A gateway to country walks and cycle paths, the superb beaches of the Emerald Coast and the culture and atmosphere of cities like Rennes and Dinan.
There is access to a public lake and park at 250m with FISHING, fitness trail, picnic and BBQ facilities, and a children’s playground.
With easy access to the airports of Dinard, Rennes, Nantes and Brest as well as to the ports of Saint-Malo, Caen and Cherbourg. The house offers a fabulous vacation spot on the Côte d'Amour in Brittany.
It has a living room with 3 extra-large sofas, a large Sony flat screen TV and DVD player with UK satellite channels and access to French TV channels. Roku streaming is available with FREE NETFLIX. Free Wi-Fi is also available.
There is a beautiful cast iron wood stove for cooler evenings.
The kitchen is extremely well equipped with oven, hob, extractor, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and all crockery and cutlery.
A staircase takes you to the first floor where you will find two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms. All bedrooms have wardrobes and heating. The front double bedrooms have a view of the gardens and lake of the property opposite. The rear double bedrooms overlook the garden and neighbouring fields.
There is a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet on the first floor. The second bathroom is located on the ground floor and contains a bath with overhead shower, sink and toilet.
There is a utility room adjacent to the kitchen which contains the dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. An iron and ironing board are at your disposal. There are also two specialist drinks fridges to keep your wine and beer cool for those long hot days!
At the rear of the house there is a beautiful raised garden with terrace, equipped with a large dining table, chairs and a large canopy. There is also a spa and a barbecue for your use. The spa is operational form the1st June to the 1st September.
Covered parking is available which is located next to the adjacent gîte.
A 2-minute drive or 10-minute walk from the house to the village centre, there is a bar, and a small local store which is open daily for basic groceries and bread. You can also enjoy a delicious pizza from the visiting artisan on Friday nights.
Broons is the local town (10 min drive) where you will find supermarkets, banks, pharmacy, restaurants and bars/ tobacconist. The market takes place on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Jugon-les-Lacs, which is "the little town of character", is a 15-minute drive away and well worth a visit. It offers a small selection of restaurants and shops, with narrow streets and quaint buildings. It is bordered by two vast lakes offering kayaking, pedalos and fishing, it even has an indoor swimming pool and an outdoor lido with L'Aqua Splash with its huge toboggans for the summer months!
A little further, the medieval town of Dinan, with its 3 km long ramparts, half-timbered buildings and cobbled streets, is one of the most beautiful and best-preserved towns in Brittany, transporting you to another time. The first castle of Dinan appears in the Bayeux tapestry!
A 30–35-minute drive will take you to vast golden beaches along the emerald coast from Val André to Dinard, with its aristocratic mansions atop a 19th century cliff. The coast offers spectacular walks, water sports, restaurants and coastal towns. Visit Erquy, a traditional fishing port and taste its world-class scallops harvested from the harbour and transported daily to restaurants in Paris, London and the south of France or visit one of the many weekly markets selling produce and seafood and local crafts.
Saint-Malo, with its walled city, is around 45 minutes away and Cancale, famous for its oysters and seafood restaurants, 1 hour away.
Mont-Saint-Michel, a World Heritage Site, is an island located in the bay where Normandy and Brittany merge. It is topped by a medieval gravity-defying monastery and is considered one of Europe's most unforgettable sites, a perfect day trip from the house.
The city of Rennes, capital of the Brittany region, is around 45 minutes by car offering all that a big city has to offer but also steeped in 2000 years of history and culture.
