Summary: What a charming house well-situated above Roscanvel with views to the sea in three directions. Coffee in the big garden was an absolute treat! Comfortable accomodation with a nice new shower/toilet room. Unfortunately the walk-in shower didn't drain well (even though my husband took the drain cover off and cleaned the drain thoroughly of previous guest's hair) so we regularly flooded the bathroom. Early in the morning of our second night in the house the electricity suddenly went off while we were sleeping which shut off my husband's C-PAP machine. So at 4:30 AM we were all awake and trying to find out what had happened. We didn't have electricity for about 12 hours so couldn't use the stove or oven or turn on the lights or use the wall sockets. Suddenly the power came back on, but a few hours later it was off again. The owner was on vacation in another country so when contacted asked various neighbors to come over to try their hand at figuring out what was wrong. They were all very helpful and very friendly! One neighbor turned off the hot water heater and forgot to turn it back on so we were also without warm water for a day until my husband was able to get it back on! The electrical fail happened 4 times over the space of 5 days until my husband finally found the source of the problem, fixed it, and for the rest of our stay we had no more problems. When the cleaner came to inspect the house before we left we explained to her what the problem was so hopefully no one else will have the electrical problems that we had. One other source of stress was the fact that the day before we left our home for the long journey to Roscanvel and less than a week before we were to arrive we received a long email informing us that we : -had to rent the bed linens and towels at an additional cost or bring our own. -would be required to clean the house to the owner's standard before we left or pay an additional fee to have it cleaned. As I had booked the house a full 6 months ahead and paid all the fees on time and in full I didn't appreciate being informed of these extra costs at the last minute! If I had been informed early on I could have planned accordingly. All that said, it was a wonderful vacation in a beautiful location!
