This cabin has been converted from a caravan, and the owners have done a great job making The Retreat a quirky, unique place to stay. It’s set in lovely, peaceful grounds with views of trees and farmland. With a few chickens roaming free range around the grounds it’s a tranquil wee oasis in Caithness. The Retreat is close to amazing Dunnet Head and Beach, as well as the Castle of Mey. Ferries across to Orkney are close by and John O’ Groats is only a short drive away. The NC500 is a stone’s throw away from cabin, so you can be off exploring all over the north of the Highlands in no time at all. The accommodation itself is spacious for a couple, there’s a kitchen/dining/living room with views out to the grounds and surrounding trees and farmland; and there’s one large double bedroom. Minimum stay of four nights with any day arrival, this is an excellent option for those wanting a comfortable place to stay with friendly nearby owners that’s near to all you’ll want to see and do this far north.
