Summary: . The stay was pleasant enough, but it did not meet the standards one would expect of a five-star hotel. Check-in was difficult, as the reception was locked and we had to locate a cleaner, who then found someone to assist us. Upon entering our room, we discovered a cleaner’s half-drunk coffee had been left behind, and in another booked room no toiletries were provided at all. We were informed in advance that the restaurant would be closed in the evening, however we did not anticipate the complete lack of hotel facilities. There was no lounge or social space with comfortable seating, leaving us confined to our bedrooms for the evening. Breakfast was acceptable but continental only, with a surcharge for cooked options. While we were aware of this beforehand, it still felt inconsistent with the expectations associated with a five-star property.
