Situated just south of the village centre, is this delightful, whitewashed end of terrace property. Located in a quiet area of Coniston called 'The Banks', the cottage is still within walking distance of the village & all of its amenities.
Historically cottages on 'The Banks' were originally built in the 1850s, for employees of the Coniston Copper Company and it is likely the middle management lived here, appreciating its views and close proximity to the village.
Today Poppy Cottage is a cosy and welcoming home, recently refurbished to a comfortable standard by its present day owners. Ideally situated this cosy cottage enjoys immediate access onto the surrounding open fells and the delights of the village are less than a 10 minute stroll downhill. The cottage enjoys fantastic views from the master bedroom which looks out towards Coniston Water and the rolling Grizedale hills beyond.
In essence Poppy Cottage is perfect for couples, friends and small families looking to explore the delights of Coniston and the surrounding Lakes area.
Ground floor
Entering the cottage takes you into the open plan living area. Two comfortable sofas are positioned in front of the alluring wood burning stove. There's a TV & DVD player here too should you tire of looking out of the windows at the view. The dining table is perfectly positioned, providing visitors an exceptional mountain view, quite a distraction from any meal.
The bespoke kitchen area is situated to the back of the room and enjoys slate worktops, electric oven & hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge & washing machine.
First floor
Upstairs there are two cosy room and the house bathroom, the double room offers views of Coniston Water so friends may need to toss a coin to decide who gets this room.

To the front of the cottage, just across the lane is a partially enclosed, secluded garden. Complete with sitting out area, this hidden gem is a great space to while away a lazy summer's afternoon or simply watch the world pass by.

We can offer free use of a 1 acre enclosed field in Coniston village, perfect for off the lead running, walking, training and playing. Use by arrangement only. Please contact The Coppermines Lakes Cottages office for availability.
