## Emplacement
Meucon is a commune in the Morbihan region of Brittany, 8 km north of Vannes. Becoming an independent parish only in 1779, the commune was created in 1790. Until then, it was a dependency of the bishops of Vannes. The site on which the village was to develop was first known for its clumsiness established in the twelfth century: the lepers who lived there and lived in the adjacent houses specialized in the production of ropes. Inheritance to this centuries-old tradition, the last rope mill of the commune closed its doors in 1914. Meucon was also known for making fouaces, pastries made from water, salt and wheat flour.
