This beautifully decorated, terraced, seaside cottage has bucketful’s of character and boasts stunning views of the sea and the Northern Fells in the Lake District National Park. The property is situated opposite the village green in the quiet village of Allonby on the north west coast of Cumbria, once frequented by smugglers operating along the Solway Estuary between Cumbria and Scotland. The narrow cobbled lanes and interesting architecture of this historic Georgian village offer a glimpse to its maritime past. The wooden beams that flow through this property are a reminder of its heritage yet the feel is modern, spacious and relaxing.
Gulls Hatch comfortably sleeps up to four adults in two good-sized bedrooms both located on the first floor. The second floor is home to the hub of the house complete with a large flat screen Smart TV offering complimentary Netflix. A real bonus is you can turn right outside of the front gate and within 100 yards you’ll be on Allonby Beach with a long stretch of sand to explore.
Located between Maryport and Silloth this area has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its long sandy beaches offering great views over the Solway Estuary to the mountains of southern Scotland gives an added dimension to this Cumbrian hotspot. Within a few hundred yards you have a fish and chip shop, a couple of great pubs serving food and local ales, and a famous ice cream shop. For those seeking some more rugged outdoor adventure you’re only a 10 mile drive to the Lake District National Park and 16 miles to your nearest lake, Bassenthwaite. Do not miss a visit to the famous Lakes Distillery offering guided tours and tastings, or the Lake District Wildlife Park with over 100 species of exotic animals making for a fun-filled day out for all ages.
